List of Artworks by Jean-Guy Desrosiers

From a very early age, Jean-Guy Desrosiers was fascinated by colour and design. Born in 1934 into a large family of modest means in Sorel (Quebec, Canada), where art had no place in daily live, he refused to abandon his dream over the years. At the age of 21 he began a formal art training at the Ecole Technique in Ottawa. His work as a professional photographer for the Canadian aviation industry, eventually took him to Quebec City, where he audited courses at the Ecole des Beaux Arts. Working as a scientific illustrator at the Valcartier Reseach Center, he also painted intensely. His passion soon led to a new career. Jean-Guy Desrosiers employs a variety of media to render such diverse subjects as the Quebec countryside, the mountains of Charlevoix, typical fishing villages and figures.
