Denise Bedard was born in Quebec City in 1929. Since her childhood, she is interested in all forms of artistic expression: drawing, tapestry, watercolour and oil painting. From 1979 to 1982, she registered at the Moulin des arts in Saint-Étienne for some courses. She then studied with St-Gilles and Remi Clark (1984-1986), Graham Scholes (1986) and Judy Betts (1988). In 1987, Denise Bedard won the Albert-Rousseau prize and she was also accepted for three consecutive years by the Canadian Watercolour Society Art show.
