Sylvie Bernadette was born in Montreal in 1955. Although she has a degree in specialised education, she chose, twelve years ago, to earn her living with her art : painting on silk. She learned silk painting by herself and then mastered the technique in France. For the last ten years, the theme for her work is the seaside. The color, the movement and the composition of her works depict with great sensibility the moods and the warmth of the seaside. The caracters of her works, mem, women and children are so real that we feel as though we know them. Sylvie Bernadette and her works are becoming well known in Quebec and in Canada mainly because of the many exhibitons in which she has shown her works.
