Born October 4, 1950, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Monique Harvey sees herself more as a self-taught artist even if she followed a few courses in drawing and painting, some of the related to a certificate in Arts from the Sherbrooke University. In 1984, she was awarded the prize of the Business Men of Montreal at an exhibition held at Mont-Tremblant. In 1989, she took part in the «Les Femmes peintres du Québec» exhibition at the Marc-Aurèle-Fortin museum in Montreal. The subject is not important in the art of Monique Harvey. Il is a painting she dreams and improvises each time. It is a space she constructs through distortions and disproportions which create their own harmony. It is a magnificent order which emerges out of the apparent disorder often characterizing her compositions.
