List of Artworks by Neree DeGrace

1920-2002. Nérée De Grâce was born in Shippagan, New Brunswick. From childhood, he was passionate about drawing and painting. In 1948, he obtained his diploma from the École des beaux-arts de Montréal (EBAM). He founded his own publicity and silkscreen firm to earn his living while using his leisure time to paint. In 1977, he chose to paint full-time. He illustrated several works for the famous Antonine Maillet, and Canada Post released a stamp featuring his work entitled "Le village de Shippagan". Wanting to depict the social and cultural reality of his native land, De Grâce offers, with colourful enchantments both naive and surrealist, a vision of childhood. Though his paintings are reminiscent of Chagall, Nérée deGrâce has a vision all his own, alternately whimsical and humorous; always poetic.
